Jim Owens is a third generation resident of Ellis County.  He was born and raised in Waxahachie and graduated from Waxahachie High School.  After graduating from Texas A&M University-Commerce and teaching school in Waxahachie for two years, he has worked in Midlothian for over 30 years.  Jim has been actively involved with the Midlothian Chamber of Commerce, serving as Chairman of the Board for 2005-2006.  He is currently serving as a Chamber Ambassador and on numerous other event planning committees.  Jim attends and is actively involved in Farley Street Baptist Church in Waxahachie. He teaches an adult Sunday School class, leads the Evangelism Explosion ministry, serves on the Building Committee and on the Finance Committee.

 Jim is married to Joyce and they reside in Waxahachie.  They have five sons and ten beautiful grandchildren.
